Rehearsals are held Saturdays and Sundays at NEWDO's studio, 129 S Washington St, 2nd Floor, Downtown Green Bay. Dancers are only required to be at rehearsals for their designated rehearsal time for their assigned roles.
Rehearsals move to the Weidner Center the week of performances. These rehearsals are mandatory for all dancers.
Little Angels and Little Mice: $175 in advance of rehearsal time
Individual Dancer: $275 in advance of rehearsal time

There is an orientation in early September that is mandatory for all dancers. It will last 1 hour.
Each family is required to provide 8 volunteer hours. A buyout option is available (see registration form) Families are also required to sell sixteen tickets through the Weidner Center.
For the youngest dancers, expect some movement from the Nutcracker in a fun and supportive mini-class. For older dancer, expect a basic ballet class. Pointe is also available for dancers who are in pointe classes at their studio. Preparation work is not required and we do not ask dancers to perform solo during audition at any time. Auditions are a fun and developmentally appropriate experience.
What should I wear to my audition?
Leotard, tights and ballet shoes. Pointe shoes if appropriate (for dancers currently participating in pointe classes at their studio). Youngest dancers should come in clothing they can move in. Nothing special is required.
After the performances, NEWDO will provide a link to select photos. A video of one show will also be provided.
Our Artistic Director assigns roles based on the following: age, ability, availability for rehearsals, and attitude.
No. NEWDO provides all costumes for all dancers. Dancers are only responsible for their tights, shoes, and a flesh colored leotard to wear under costumes for quick changes.
Almost always! It is very rare for a dancer not to receive a role.
No. Participation in our Repertory Days is not required. It is a fun opportunity to learn some Nutcracker choreography and dance with other dancers in our community!
