Our Mission

The mission of the Northeastern Wisconsin Dance Organization, Inc. is to promote and support the art of dance through high quality, professional level productions, education and outreach to the Green Bay community.

Our Vision

NEWDO is a not-for-profit 501 (c) 3 Wisconsin corporation comprised of community members intent on providing quality experiences for performers and audience members. Classical dance provides tradition and beauty, provokes thought, entertains, and ties communities together. It is our continued goal to provide these benefits to Northeastern Wisconsin.

Our History

Northeastern Wisconsin Dance Organization was created in 1973 in response to community interest to support dance in Northeast Wisconsin. We work collaboratively to provide dance performance opportunities to local aspiring dancers and students in local venues.

Meet Our Board

Joe Eckberg – President – Joe firmly believes the technical world should look and sound better than it currently does and wants to help everybody reach that goal. Joe is a Journeyman Stagehand for the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, Local #470. He has been the Technical Director for both the Meyer Theatre and the Weidner Center for the Performing Arts. Joe was asked to step into the role of president in 2016 and has tirelessly supported the technical needs of our productions.

Stacy Mingori – Vice President – Stacy is an RN and Team Leader of Surgical Services with Bellin Health. She brought her background in project management and leadership to the board in 2015. Stacy’s passion for the performing arts began with two of her three children who are both dancers. Her effort to provide them with performance opportunities has grown into a vested personal interest to provide high quality dance for Northeast Wisconsin.

Nicole Silta – Treasurer – Nicole is a graduate of Lawrence University with a Bachelor of Music in Vocal and General Music Education. While at Lawrence, she studied voice and flute and was active in both the opera and musical theater productions. She was employed as a music teacher in various school systems for many years and was also the Choral Director for the Oconto Falls Ecumenical Choir for six years. Her children have both been active in NEWDO productions for seven years. Since 2016, she has found great joy in serving on a board that promotes the teaching of a fine art to the youth of our community. It has always been her passion for all young people to experience the joy and freedom of expression that she has found in the arts.

Laura Bronk – Secretary – Laura comes to the board with decades of experience in dance education. She was the Owner and Director of Fancy Dancer Studio for 20 years. She initiated and directed the Practicing Professional Teaching Artist dance program at the Boys & Girls Club of Green Bay for 3 years. She has danced in NEWDO’s Green Bay Nutcracker Ballet since the inaugural production thirteen years ago. She joined the board in 2016 to provide quality performance opportunities to our Green Bay community dancers.

Julie Meyer – Member at Large – Julie fell in love with dance in her first class at the age of five. Ballet is still part of her life today. She joined the board in 2017  because it brings the art of dance to so many people in the Green Bay area, including her two children who are both young dancers. Julie is an RN at St. Mary’s Hospital and a freelance graphic artist. When she isn’t dancing, she loves to spend time with family, friends and pets.
